Development & Fund Manager (Film & TV)Salary: Up to £50,000 per annumLocation: LondonContract: Full‑timeWe are partnering with an independent film/tv production company founded by a team of highly experienced UK based Chinese filmmakers with established careers across Film and TV. The company is in an exciting early stage of growth, building a slate of internationally focused feature films and television projects.
Their work centres on co‑productions, cross‑cultural storytelling (China, Korea etc) with a mission to bring diverse voices to global audiences.
The RoleThe Development & Fund Manager will be a key player in the company’s development and financing activity across its growing slate.
This is a hands‑on, wide‑ranging role that blends creative development, funding strategy, and elements of associate producing.
Working closely with the producers, you’ll contribute to both the creative and operational sides of project development.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self‑starter who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and has a strong understanding of the UK film ecosystem and international funding structures.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment
- Project development support — guiding film and TV projects from concept to financing
- Story & editorial collaboration — working with Chinese and English producers, writers, and directors
- Creation of development materials — treatments, pitch decks, proposals, and project documentation
Funding & Finance Support
- Researching UK & international funding opportunities
- Leading funding applications — drafting written materials and preparing supporting documents
- Contributing to funding strategy across the slate
Industry & Market Awareness
- Tracking funding landscapes, co‑production opportunities, and industry initiatives
- Supporting preparations for markets, labs, and industry‑facing submissions
Experience
- 5+ years in the UK film and television industry
- Experience within independent production companies or working with independent producers
- Experience of UK and Chinese or other South East Asian Entertainment industry
- Proven track record with public funding applications (BFI, regional funds, international bodies)
- Strong understanding of development and financing workflows
- Excellent written English and experience producing development/financing documents
- Spoken Mandarin Chinese advantageous.
- Comfortable working in a lean, early‑stage company environment
