My time at Impact has been the most awe-inspiring placement I have ever had the pleasure of undertaking.
Day one is always a nerve-wracking day regardless of if you’re permanent or temporary; add in a tube strike and you can imagine how I felt. Walking in I was greeted by one of the warmest personalities you could ever be greeted with, followed with beaming smiles from everyone in the office, which put all my day one nerves to rest. I could tell from conversations in the first meeting and tea/coffee conversations in the kitchen, everyone was genuinely willing to help without any hesitation. It’s easy to see how passionate they all are to work, not only within recruitment, but for the company.
Julia, Joint MD, took a risk with offering a placement to someone like me, an aspiring HR professional, enabling me to really understand the business from the inside. Not only was I working within one of the faces of HR, I was working within the HR division alongside Lisa and Fliss. From the time I spent with the team I feel I have grown a lot, from understanding of the hierarchy and titling across businesses, to what contributes to being an HR professional, and fundamentally how important and integral HR is to a business.
I would like to thank the whole of the Impact team for making me feel so welcome – Julia, Lisa and Fliss for answering every silly question and Nick for getting me through the door which has enabled me to have this opportunity, ultimately contributing to the start of my HR career.
