As part of our Future Proofing Talent through Diversity project, four of our consultants volunteered themselves for an afternoon at the Inspire Ready for Work session with Westminster Kingsway College. The aim of the programme is to inspire those who may be disadvantaged in the community and prepare them for the workforce and career in the media. Our consultants met with 30 young people from the ages of 15-19 from varying backgrounds who share a collective interest in the creative industries.

The afternoon consisted of interview tips for the students, mock interviews, feedback and self-assessment. It encouraged the students to think about their futures, what career paths they are considering and what they can expect when they start applying for roles and the interview processes that go along with that.

The response from the students and organisers after the session was very positive, with the students expressing a sense of achievement and excitement from completing the mock interviews and the feedback provided by Impact volunteers. Our consultants also had great things to say about the session, stepping out of their comfort zones and feeling challenged to inspire the young men in their journey towards their future career paths as well as being given the opportunity to reach out to the students and supply them with expert knowledge was a great privilege for both.

Not only did the students take away great tips, advice and more confidence from the session but our star consultants themselves also came away feeling inspired.
