Today a new Government law was introduced; it’s called The National Living Wage. As of today (April 1st) if you are employed, aged 25 or over and not in the first year of an apprenticeship, you are now entitled to £7.20 an hour as a minimum! That’s an extra 50p an hour than before!!
If you fit into the below eligibility category then you are on to a winner!
- Employees
- Most workers and agency workers
- Casual labourers
- Agricultural workers
- Apprentices who are aged 25 and over and who have completed their first year of apprenticeship.
What does this mean? This means that people have talked and the Government have listened. They have set this law based on current living prices in the UK and by 2020 it is expected to go up to £9 an hour!
